A very useful text, especially for those who are out of practice in writing for assessment.
This update to the PTLLS stable is an excellent support resource for those undertaking the PTLLS qualification. There are clear focus areas and this will greatly assist those who require some direction with completing their assignments. The prompts are relevant and will steer learners towards appropriate answers, whether at Level 3 or 4. A recommended read for those undertaking the qualification and also as a tutor resource.
An excellent book for any student completing the PTTLS Award. The book provides good advice on completing both written and practical assessments. The book also provides details on how these assessment outcomes match to the standards at both levels 3 and 4. Well recommended.
The book is well structured and has a very useful introduction which informs you how to use the book and locate what you require.
In each chapter there is a brief introduction which helpfully sets out what the chapter includes and at the end of each chapter provides us with a summary and useful further reading and useful points of reference.
Each chapter includes sub headings which makes it easy to locate relevant information. The language used throughout the book is clear, easy to understand, jargon free, yet appropriate for the content of the book and the informaton to be conveyed to the reader.
Over all a useful point of reference for anyone undertaking the Ptlls assessment and recommended to any student embarking on the Ptlls assessments.
Overall a very helpful book targetted at the new assignments. Helpful advice is given and students are encouraged to think through the practicalities of the underpinning theory as well as simply get through the qualification assessments. I feel it would be helpful to have this book and the companion volume "Preparing to Teach in the Lifelong Learning Sector" by the same author merged into a single coherent volume.
Updated for 12 credit PTTLS. Easy to read and dip into - useful for those completely new to teaching.
This book is particularly useful for those learners who are truly 'preparing' to teach and have little or no experience in the field of teaching. It provides some practical tips on how to tackle assignments with ideas on what they need to know and be aware of when starting out in the teaching profession. It also makes the task of submitting an assignment less daunting by breaking down the criteria into bite size chunks and tackling each individually. Good for someone with less experience and who has perhaps been out of the habit of writing academic pieces of work for some time.
Another great book for those wishing to undertake PTLLS. Would definitely recommend.
A clear, easy to follow guide.
