Carolyn Wood

Carolyn Wood, EdD, currently serves as a Field Supervisor of Graduate Interns for the Teacher Education Program at DeSales University in Bethlehem, PA. Prior to this role, she had a forty-year career as an educator and administrator, including being a principal of an elementary school where she initiated PLC teams, developed learning support and enrichment programs. Carolyn has experience in early childhood, special education, elementary, middle school, and higher education. Her background includes development of behavioral systems for preschool to junior high students with special needs and designing a renowned middle school ELA program which included a self-editing writing protocol. Carolyn earned her doctorate from Neumann University and published The Impact of Metacognition and Self-Regulated Learning on Achievement in Mathematics in Middle School Students. She remains actively engaged in applying metacognition and self-regulated learning strategies in classroom settings.
