He taught 11 years at the junior high and elementary levels in Gallup-McKinley County School District, Gallup, NM, Midwest City/Del City School District, Midwest City, OK and Albuquerque Public Schools District, Albuquerque, NM. He served as a junior high and elementary principal for 22 years in the Albuquerque Public Schools. He considers himself a practitioner rather than a researcher.

Roberta Kaufman has been a P-12 special educator and university administrator in the Midwest where she has worked in both rural and urban settings. Her professional experience includes coordinating a partnership between multiple school districts in a metropolitan area and a university to design and implement a teacher preparation program for under-represented populations. Robert Wandberg currently serves as the Language Diverse Literacy Coach for the Columbia Heights School District in Minnesota. His responsibilities include providing classroom teachers with effective, best practice strategies for working with English language learners, special education students, and low-literacy learners.

Matthew Jennings is currently the superintendent of schools for the Alexandria Township Public School System. Prior to serving in this position, Jennings served as an assistant superintendent of schools, a director of student services, a supervisor of curriculum and instruction, and a classroom teacher.

Barbara C. Trolley has spent over three decades working in the counseling field. Currently, she is a professor in counselor education at St. Bonaventure University, where she trains graduate students for careers in school and mental health counseling. As the chair of her university's disability committee and coordinator of the autism training program, Trolley is committed to working with issues of diversity and youth.

Heather S. Haas is NYS certified in school building leadership, school counseling, special education, and elementary education. Currently, she is an administrator of special education. In the past, she has worked as a special education teacher, school counselor and chairperson for the committee on special education.
