An educator for more than 30 years, she served as a classroom teacher, a department chair, an assistant superintendent and an assessment coordinator. During her tenure as a district leader she facilitated the establishment of new programs in the areas of balanced assessment and foreign language.

Nancy DeVries Guth is the supervisor of literacy and humanities for Stafford County Public schools, Virginia, where she supports the literacy programs for close to 30,000 students. She worked as a reading specialist at the elementary, middle, and secondary level and as a resource teacher for literacy programs in Virginia, New Mexico, Michigan, and Brazil.

Tamie Pratt-Fartro is a middle school reading specialist and literacy coach for Stafford County Public Schools. She began her teaching career in Stafford as a fifth-grade teacher and also worked as an elementary reading specialist. Pratt-Fartro earned her master's in education from Virginia Tech and is currently a doctoral candidate and adjunct instructor at George Mason University.

Eli R. Johnson is a consultant for the California Department of Education, supporting early literacy, English language professional development, and math and science projects. He works with urban districts throughout the state of California, strengthening teacher collaboration and school leadership. His previous experiences as a classroom teacher, site administrator, and instructional leader make him a valuable contributor to sustainable school reform.

Michele C. Cheyne is a clinical faculty member in science education at the University of Pittsburgh where she teaches a variety of courses in the secondary science teacher preparation program. She also supervises pre-service teachers during their clinical experiences. Cheyne has worked with Pittsburgh Public Schools on several projects and provides professional development for professional laboratory training programs.
