David Campos began his career in education more than thirty years ago, when he started teaching second grade. He earned his Ph.D. from The University of Texas at Austin, specializing in learning disabilities and behavior disorders. His scholarship focuses on instructional design and delivery, childhood health and wellness, and LGBTQ children and adolescents.

Matthew Militello is the Wells Fargo Distinguished Professor in Educational Leadership at East Carolina University. He is currently the principal investigator for a million dollar National Science Foundation grant (NSF# 1738767) bringing computational thinking to music and art classes in rural NC middle schools. Militello is also currently implementing an innovative Ed.D. degree for ECU in Bangkok, Thailand.

Tyrone C. Howard is the Pritzker Family Endowed Chair in the School of Education and Information Studies at UCLA. Howard is the co-director of the UCLA Pritzker Center for Strengthening Families and Children. He also is the co-director of the UCLA Center for the Transformation of Schools. Dr. Howard has published over 100 scholarly journal articles, book chapters, policy briefs, and technical reports. He is the author of six books. Dr.

Lois A. Lanning, PhD, is an independent education consultant.  She presents and works with districts at the international, national, and state levels in the areas of literacy and Concept- Based Curriculum design.

Tatyana Kleyn is an assistant professor at the City College of New York in the Bilingual Education and TESOL (Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages) program. In 2007 she received an EdD from Teachers College, Columbia University in international educational development, with a specialization in bilingual/bicultural education.

Jody L. Maanum has taught in both the general and special education settings for 13 years, working diligently to implement best practice techniques and differentiated strategies to meet the individual needs of all students. Maanum is currently the literacy coach and Response to Intervention training specialist for the Midwest Special Education Cooperative in West Central Minnesota.

Nathan L. Essex is professor of educational law and leadership at the University of Memphis and president of Southwest Tennessee Community College. He has held public school teaching and administrative positions prior to completing the doctorate. Essex’s interests include law, educational policy, and personnel administration. He has served as consultant for more than 100 school districts and numerous educational agencies.

Denise M. Gudwin is currently an adjunct professor at Florida International University and national consultant for the Bureau of Educational Research. She retired from Miami-Dade County Public Schools after thirty years of service, July 2008.

Magda D. Salazar is currently the Special Education Chairperson and Teacher at an elementary school in the fourth-largest school district of the nation. Her past experiences include special education teacher; inclusion teacher; curriculum support specialist, Division of Special Education, District Office; professional development support specialist; and adjunct professor at Florida International University and Barry University.
