Robert E. Yager is professor emeritus of science education at The University of Iowa, where he also earned two graduate degrees. He has di­rected over 100 National Science Foundation projects and has served as chair for nearly 130 doctoral students. Yager has served as president for seven national professional organizations. He has been involved internationally with special ongoing projects in Korea, Taiwan, Japan, Turkey, and Estonia.

Linda E. Brody directs the Study of Exceptional Talent and co-directs the Diagnostic and Counseling Center at the Johns Hopkins University Center for Talented Youth (CTY). She has over 25 years’ experience counseling gifted students and their families and conducting research on this population. Having earned her doctorate in the Education of the Gifted from Johns Hopkins, she has taught graduate courses in gifted education there for many years.

Peter W. Hewson is Professor of Science Education at the University of Wisconsin–Madison. He is also the director of a project to develop collabo­rative research in science and mathematics education between South Africa and the United States. He has been a principal investigator on several other federally funded multiyear projects in science education.

Robert DiGiulio is Education Professor at Johnson State College in Vermont. He earned his Ph.D. in human development from the University of Connecticut, and recently earned his D.Ed. in socio-education from the University of South Africa. He began his teaching career in the New York City public school system, where he taught for a number of years.

M. C. (Millie) Gore is Hardin Distinguished Professor in the Special Education Program of the Department of Counseling, Kinesiology, and Special Education at the Gordon T. and Ellen West College of Education at Midwestern State University in Wichita Falls, Texas. She is the author or coauthor of several books, including the Corwin title (with John F. Dowd) Taming the Time Stealers: Tricks of the Trade From Organized Teachers.

An architect, Frank S. Kelly is senior vice president and director of planning/programming for the SHW Group, an architectural, planning, and engineering firm focused on architecture for education. SHW’s practice extends across much of the country, with offices in Texas, Michigan, and Virginia.

After completing the post-graduate program in Child Development and Family Studies at the University of Akron, Barbara Oehlberg was employed by the Family Life Program, Office of Adult Education, Cleveland Public Schools.  She wrote, Parenting for Peaceful Families:  A Resource Guide for Parent Educators, for Ohio’s Governor R. Celeste during that time.
