Harvey F. Silver, president of Silver Strong & Associates and Thoughtful Education Press, was named one of the 100 most influential teachers in the country. He has conducted numerous workshops for school districts and state education departments throughout the United States. He was the principal consultant for the Georgia Critical Thinking Skills Program and the Kentucky Thoughtful Education Teacher Leadership Program.

J. Ronald Gentile is a graduate of Penn State University (B.S., 1963, and M.S., 1964, in Psychology; and Ph.D., in 1967, in Educational Psychology) and has been teaching educational psychology at the University at Buffalo, State University of New York, since 1969.

James P. Lalley is an Assistant Professor of Education at D’Youville College in Buffalo, New York. He is a graduate of the State University of New York at Buffalo (B.A., 1984, in History; and M.A., 1995, and Ph.D., 1997, in Educational Psychology). He has taught at the State University of New York, College at Buffalo and Canisius College. His previous publica­tions have been in the areas of educational technology and child development.

In Jesness' twenty-five year career as an educator, he has worked with English learners in a number of environments. He has taught ESL in public middle and high schools, special education for bilingual children at the elementary level, and language arts and social studies in classes that included both English learners and regular education students. Dwight W. Allen, Ed.D., is the Eminent Professor of Educational Reform at Old Dominion University in Norfolk Virginia. He received his A.B. (with Distinction) in history, with honors in Humanities, from Stanford University in Palo Alto, California. He continued at Stanford and completed both his M.A. and his Ed.D. in Education.

Alyce C. LeBlanc, Ph.D., is the Curriculum Specialist for the School of Education at Capella University. In addition to teaching, she has developed numerous instructor-led graduate courses for web-based online delivery in the School of Education. Alyce has a particular interest in teacher preparation programs and currently has a lead role in the development of a new teacher leadership masters program at Capella University.

Luvern L. Cunningham, Ed. D., University of Oregon, has served in administrative and teaching roles from K-12 through graduate school over more than four decades. A member of the Danforth Forum advisory board, his specialties are educational leadership, the school superintendency, educational governance, inter-institutional collaboration and inter-professional education and practice.

James Harvey is the Executive Director of the National Superintendents Roundtable and a doctoral student at Seattle Unviersity. He is Senior Fellow at the Center on Reinventing Public Education, University of Washington, and was a member of the Danforth Forum’s advisory board. Earlier he served in the Carter administration and on the staff of the Education and Labor Committee of the U.S. House of Representatives.

Robert H. Koff directed the Center for Advanced Learning at Washington University, St. Louis. He previously served as Senior Vice President of the Danforth Foundation, Dean of the School of Education, SUNY at Albany, and professor of education at Stanford University.

Dr. Melissa Stormont has been involved in special education and psychology for over 15 years. Dr. Stormont has worked to support children with behavioral problems as a teacher, behavioral consultant, and through teaching teachers and conducting research in higher education. Currently, Dr. Stormont is an Associate Professor in Special Education at the University of Missouri. Dr.

Dr. Susan R. Easterbrooks is a Professor of Deaf Education in the Educational Psychology Department in the College of Education at Georgia State University and has been active in the field of deaf education for over 30 years. Dr. Easterbrooks has been a teacher, clinician, administrator, school psychologist, lecturer, and consultant and has authored numerous articles, chapters, and books on the education of children who are deaf and hard of hearing.
