Glenda A. Gunter, Associate Professor at the University of Central Florida, has a Ph.D. in Instructional/Educational Technology. She has over eighteen years experience in education and educational technology, working with schools and educational organizations to integrate technology.

Sara Hill, EdD, has worked in community-based education for 20 years. She has conducted research at community-based youth programs, both in the U.S. as well as internationally, and published several articles in the areas of literacy, youth development and community-based education. She received her MEd from the Harvard Graduate School of Education, and her EdD from Peabody College, Vanderbilt University.

Jennifer Stepanek is a writer, editor, and researcher with Education Northwest in Portland, Oregon. She is the lead author of Leading Lesson Study: A Practical Guide for Teachers and Facilitators (2007), published by Corwin Press. Jennifer has worked with lesson study teams at a variety of sites in the Northwest to explore how teachers in the United States are adapting the Japanese model to fit their contexts and needs.

Melinda Leong has served as a Senior Program Advisor in the Mathematics Education Unit at Education Northwest since 2001. She has been providing leadership in designing effective professional development in mathematics learning, teaching, and assessment. Before joining Education Northwest, she worked with the New York City Board of Education in District 2 as a teacher and director for 11 years at the K–8 level.

Dale E. Moxley, has an Ed. D. in Educational Leadership and has over thirty years experience in education and administration.  His school level administrative experience includes principal at the elementary, middle and high school level.  He has also been the director of secondary curriculum at the district level.  He is currently principal at Round Lake Elementary a Lake County, Florida charter conversion school.

Janet Hale is an educational consultant and trainer who is passionate about supporting educators in making curriculum decisions that ensure, enhance, and enrich learning and teaching experiences.

Susan Penny Gray, PhD has been an educator for more than 40 years in Indiana and California, including 15 years as Director of Curriculum Services for the San Marcos Unified School District in San Marcos, California and 7 years as a member of the Educational Leadership faculty at San Diego State University.

LeAnn Nickelsen, M.Ed. is a former teacher and currently provides staff development nationally on topics including brain research, reading and vocabulary strategies, how food affects learning, and differentiated instruction. She was a classroom teacher in three states and won a Teacher of the Year Award in Texas. LeAnn is known as “the teacher’s teacher” because of her practical, research-based examples that teachers can easily implement in their classrooms.

Dr. Lew Smith received his BA, MA and School Administration/Supervision Certificate from Brooklyn College and his EdD from Teachers College, Columbia University. He began his career as a social studies teacher in New York City high schools, where his interdisciplinary course in American History, titled The American Dream, became a textbook published by Scott Foresman and adopted nation-wide.
