Karen F. Osterman is currently Professor and Chairperson in the Department of Foundations, Leadership, and Policy Studies at Hofstra University. She received her BA from Emmanuel College, an MPIA at the University of Pittsburgh Graduate School of Public and International Affairs, and a PhD from Washington University.
Michael Terc, MA, PD,
served as an administrator in the Mineola Public School District. For sixteen years, he served as Assistant
Principal at Mineola High School, New York. Before that, he taught mathematics at Mineola Middle School for sixteen
years. He also served as principal of the Mineola Summer School Program for two years. During his career, he coached
many sports and was involved in a host of student activities. He served as President of the Nassau County Baseball
Dianne Evans Kelley has taught students with emotional/ behavioral disabilities in both inclusive and more restrictive classrooms for 10 years. Currently, she is an assistant professor in the special education department at Cardinal Stritch University in Milwaukee, WI. She has worked as a special education program support teacher for the Milwaukee Public Schools, where she provided inservice training and classroom-based support to teachers throughout the district.
Josefa Ben-Arieh earned an undergraduate degree in English language and linguistics from Ben-Gurion University, Israel, in 1978. In 1998 she earned an MSEd from the University of Kansas in special education and a PhD in 2003. Her area of expertise is autism and behavior disorders.
Lawrence J. Greene, a graduate of the Stanford University Graduate School of Education, is a nationally recognized author, educational therapist, consultant, and curriculum developer who has worked with more than ten thousand struggling students during a clinical career spanning thirty years. He has written eighteen books, and he has trained thousands of teachers in graduate programs at the university level.
Gail L. Sunderman is a senior research associate in K–12 Education for the Civil Rights Project at UCLA. Her research focuses on educational policy and politics, and urban school reform, including the development and implementation of education policy and the impact of policy on the educational opportunities for at-risk students.
