Lee Brattland Nielsen has taught for more than 25 years at the elementary, secondary, and university levels. While teaching at California Lutheran University, she taught “Mainstreaming the Exceptional Student” to teachers and students who were working toward their teaching credentials.

Wendy Baron has taught Grades K-6, served as a Title I reading specialist, supervised and instructed prospective teachers at the University of California, Santa Cruz (UCSC), and for the past 20 years, she has worked directly with new teachers and principals in Grades K-12. As associate director with the New Teacher Center, Baron oversees the Santa Cruz/Silicon Valley New Teacher Project, which supports over a 1,000 new teachers annually.

Ellen Moir is founder and executive director of the New Teacher Center, which is committed to the development of an inspired, dedicated, and highly quali¬fied teaching force by supporting new teachers as they enter the profession. For more than 20 years, she has pioneered innovative approaches to new teacher development, research on new teacher practice, and the design and administration of teacher induction programs.

Rain S. Bongolan has supported over 120 beginning secondary teachers as a mentor for the Santa Cruz New Teacher Project. Her contributions to the profession reflect 22 years of teaching history and English at the middle and high school levels, and her dedication to ensuring students’ access to rigorous, culturally responsive instruction.

Karen B. Miller has taught elementary school for more  than 20 years in grades 1–4. She currently teaches at Roby Elementary in Bullitt County, Kentucky. For two years, she participated as a teacher-researcher on the study, “Children’s Academic Development in Nongraded Primary Programs,” funded by the Center for Research on Education, Diversity, and Excellence (CREDE) at the University of California at Santa Cruz.

Gayle H. Moore recently retired after teaching elementary school for 31 years at grades K–8, including 9 years in the nongraded primary program at LaGrange Elementary in Oldham County, Kentucky. Throughout that time, she participated as a teacher-researcher on studies related to the nongraded primary.

RBT’s Director of Program Development, Nancy is a leading expert in school data use and professional development. She has worked with schools across the country to develop Data Coaches and high-performing Data Teams and to put research about effective professional development into practice.

Dr. James Hamilton is currently a managing director at the American Institutes for Research (AIR). He is Principal Investigator of the ACCESS Center, which is providing technical assistance to states and school districts to help students with disabilities gain access to the general education curriculum.

Adrienne Mack-Kirschner, Ed.D., NBCT, is an education consultant and speaker with vast experience as a classroom teacher, mentor, writer, literacy coach, and support provider for candidates applying for Certification throught the National Board for Professional Teaching Standards (NBPTS). She developed and directed NB support programs at the University of California, Los Angeles, and for the Los Angeles County Office of Education.

Dr. Margulus has worked as a teacher and administrator at all grade levels of traditional and alternative K-12 schools. Her experience has included high-need, urban settings as well as suburban and rural schools.

Jacquelyn Melin is Affiliate Professor at Grand Valley State University, where she teaches classes in curriculum development and differentiated instruction.  She also has served as the Director of the School of Education Student Information and Services Center.  She was a public school educator in Rockford, Michigan for 32 1/2 years, serving as an elementary and middle school teacher, as teacher/coordinator of gifted and talented students and as an elementary principal.
