Gayle H. Moore recently retired after teaching elementary school for 31 years at grades K–8, including 9 years in the nongraded primary program at LaGrange Elementary in Oldham County, Kentucky. Throughout that time, she participated as a teacher-researcher on studies related to the nongraded primary.

Jacquelyn Melin is Affiliate Professor at Grand Valley State University, where she teaches classes in curriculum development and differentiated instruction.  She also has served as the Director of the School of Education Student Information and Services Center.  She was a public school educator in Rockford, Michigan for 32 1/2 years, serving as an elementary and middle school teacher, as teacher/coordinator of gifted and talented students and as an elementary principal.

Julie Reed Kochanek received her Ph.D from the University of Chicago in 2003. She is currently an assistant professor of sociology at Southern Oregon University in Ashland, Oregon.

Karrell Hickman currently teaches at Feather River Academy in Yuba City, California. She has a master's degree in English and has been a National Board Certified Teacher since 1995.
