Linda E. Brody directs the Study of Exceptional Talent and co-directs the Diagnostic and Counseling Center at the Johns Hopkins University Center for Talented Youth (CTY). She has over 25 years’ experience counseling gifted students and their families and conducting research on this population. Having earned her doctorate in the Education of the Gifted from Johns Hopkins, she has taught graduate courses in gifted education there for many years.

Sidney M. Moon is a professor of Gifted Education and director of the Gifted Education Resource Institute at Purdue University. She has been active in the field of gifted education for more than 25 years as a parent, counselor, teacher, administrator, and researcher. In that time, she has contributed more than 60 books, articles, and chapters to the field. Her most recent book is a co-edited volume, The Social and Emotional Development of Gifted Children: What Do We Know?

  James J. Gallagher is a senior investigator at the Frank Porter Graham Child Development Institute at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. He has worked in the field of education of exceptional children for over 40 years. Dr. Gallagher has served as the president of the World Council for Gifted and Talented, president of the Council for Exceptional Children (CEC), and is past president of the National Association for Gifted Children (NAGC).

Anne Turnbaugh Lockwood, is Senior Program Advisor in the Office of Planning and Service Coordination at the Northwest Regional Educational Laboratory in Portland, Oregon.

Gerald B. Sklare, EdD, LPCC (Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor), NCC (Nationally Certified Counselor), is a profes-sor in the Department of Educational and Counseling Psychology at the University of Louisville in Kentucky. Both his master’s degree and doctorate are in counselor education from Wayne State University in Detroit, Michigan.

Alexinia Y. Baldwin is a professor emeritus in the Department of Curriculum and Instruction at the University of Connecticut, Storrs. She is a specialist in Education of the Gifted with emphasis on the minority gifted child. Her arti­cles and chapters on this topic appear in many journals and textbooks. She developed the Baldwin Identification Matrix, which is used by many school districts and has co-edited a text titled The Many Faces of Giftedness: Lifting the Masks.
